Online food merchant GourmetStation has selected e-mail service provider MailChimp to take charge of its e-mail marketing programs.
In addition to providing e-mail distribution, tracking and reporting, MailChimp developed a double opt-in registration process for GourmetStation. Registration screens and tools are driven by MailChimp but preserve GourmetStation's branded images throughout registration.
Recently, GourmetStation's registration method developed by MailChimp was used as an example in research firm MarketingSherpa's whitepaper, “Twelve Most Common Email Marketing Mistakes,” which highlights real companies' effective methods of e-mail marketing. GourmetStation's process was listed as an example of how to avoid the mistake of marketing without permission.
