With the economy these days, we are all finding reasons to stay in and avoid spending too much money. One of the first things to cut back in my house was the frequency of dining out. Besides the hassle of traffic in the Washington DC area, it is just too much trouble to find a good restaurant we both agree on then spend the time to get there just to have to wait in line as our tummies growl louder. Plus, let's not forget to mention that you have to leave a nice chunk of change for your waiter, and the more you eat, the more money you leave behind on the table!
Everything is better in the comfort of your own home, especially eating! At home, everything is on your time, no waiting in lines, no worrying about misbehaving children, and no tipping the waiter. GourmetStation used this concept to create an entire line of in-home gourmet meals. They let me review a romantic dinner for two meal of my choice. It was a no-brainer that the Tuscan themed meal was best suited in my house, but I could have also chosen the Americana, Fusion (Asian and European flavors), Cajun, or the Parisian themed meals. There is also the choice of a three or four-course meal for each theme. Within each themed meal, you control every aspect of the meal. The process was simple and quick to choose each appetizer, entree, and dessert.
The gourmet meal was sent in a normal packing box, but inside it was heavily insulated to keep the food as frozen as possible. I was very surprised to open the box and find a "passport" for the evening which included our menu typed up. Also in the box with our meal were a set of linen napkins and a love candle.
Since I had time to prepare the meal before my other half got there, I set up the table with candle light, using the included floating love candle as the centerpiece. I rolled the silverware in the included linen napkins, set the table then began preparing the meal. Within 30 minutes, the entire meal was ready for plating. It was as simple as pouring the soup into a pot to simmer for 10 minutes, and popping the entrees in the oven for 25-30 minutes. With the unexpectedly easy preparation underway, I decided to go the extra mile and change into his favorite color and set the mood with soft romantic background music.
He was completely surprised when he arrived, and agreed that staying home for the evening was a thousand times better than dining out! GourmetStation made it easy for me to prepare a delectable meal seemingly effortlessly. They essentially did all the work for me, from the accompanying linen napkins and floating love candle to the free romantic song download of my choice. the evening was beautiful!
Plus, on top of all this, the meal itself was filling and totally satisfying. We even had enough food for another full meal of leftovers the next day. I was surprised and thrilled with the large portions, which meant our romantic dinner was made into two dinners (though sadly the second dinner was not nearly as exciting as the first dinner since the leftovers were consumed on the sofa watching the television - not nearly as romantic!)
GourmetStation's romantic themed dinners are perfect for an elegant evening just to say "I love you" or also great as anniversary, birthday, or congratulatory gifts! With the choice of three or four course meals, your choice of theme, and your choice of every small detail, you are destined to create the perfect evening for you and your partner or for another couple as a gift.
